Project scope :

The Phuket International Airport development project aims to upgrade existing airport facility for improving the levels of service and passenger comfort. MAA and Design 103 were engaged to provide engineering and architectural consultancy services for the detailed design of international terminal building which has a total floor area of 52,000 sq. m, and renovation of existing 41,500 sq. m terminal to become a domestic terminal. Both new facilities will have the capacity to handle 12.5 million passengers per year.

Accomplishments :

Services provided include:

      • Conduct study covering aspects of engineering, architectural and economical in ways that safeguard flexibility for future modification of the facility to respond to variations in demand/needs of passengers, airlines and aircrafts at the least expense
      • Arrange Value Engineering Workshops with the airport management team and operational key staffs to identify a preferred terminal facility requirements for the design of new international terminal building and a bridge connecting the domestic terminal building
      • Carry out engineering survey and asset assessment of existing terminal building to determine the most efficient way to utilize the floor space
